The Diamond Dawgs and Dantzler start the season this Friday. Don always liked to attend the early games to get a feel for the team.
After and unbelievable run in the SEC tourney last year, the Dawgs are looking for bigger and better in '12. A veteran lineup returns 7 of 8 starters and will be led by Levi Hyams, Kyle Farmer, and Peter Verdin. The pitching staff has experienced front liners due to the surprise return of Michael Pallazone and a healthy Alex Wood. The bullpen will be relatively young but does have a good back end with Bryon Benzor and Tyler Maloof. Maloof led the SEC in saves last year but will miss at least a month of the season with an arm injury. Newcomers that should make an impact include Hunter Cole of Dorman and Jared Walsh.
